About Dr. Nicole

      I am a native of Colorado, but made Tucson my permanent home in 2000. I am the owner of A Peek Within Acupuncture, P.L.L.C., and I earned my Master's of Science in Acupuncture from the accredited Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ASAOM) in Tucson, Arizona and my Doctorate of Acupuncture from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego, California. I was taught and trained by gifted acupuncturists and Oriental Medicine practitioners. During my final year in school, I began additional studies in Micro-current therapy. After graduating, I continued training with Dr. Darren Starwynn, OMD (Oriental Medical Doctor) to master my skills with Micro-current Light Therapy for emotional balancing, pain management, and facial rejuvenation. I have furthered my self-studies, continuing education, and training of acupuncture facial rejuvenation with pioneer and renowned expert in the field of anti-aging, Dr. Ping Zhang, Ph.D., L.Ac.

      Additionally, I am Nationally Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) after having met the certification requirements through a rigorous board exam process for acupuncture. I am a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Arizona.

      I have a gentle technique and often incorporate Tuina (Chinese medical massage), cranial sacral and aromatherapy into my practice. Although I am trained to treat a variety of issues, the focus of my study and practice has been in the areas of pain management, emotional issues (stress reduction, depression, and anxiety), digestion (gut health) and fatigue.

      In addition to my Doctorate degree from PCOM, I am a Certified Clinician in Whole Foods Nutrition and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. I have worked with Developmentally Disabled adults, children with special needs from birth to three years of age, and in the Mental Health field. I am also a licensed manicurist in the State of Arizona.

      In my spare time I enjoy camping, hiking, photography, horseback riding, and being with my better half, our two sons, and two awesome dogs.
